Self branding

Branding created for my graphic design practice. Strong grid work, a nod to the Golden Ratio here and there. In some ways, the logo represents a simplified Yin-Yang form, combined with my initials, akin to monograms used by artists and craftspeople.

The mark shows my core principle, simplicity vs complexity, contrasts. The diagonal movement breaks from expected horizontal and vertical stresses, a way of symbolising leftfield thinking and processes in my practice.

The back of the business cards reflect the diagonal motion of the logo, with an additional purpose: the cards can be used for making creative decisions. Such as where can elements be placed, what contrasting stresses haven’t been employed yet, and so on. When thrown, a handful or so arrange randomly. The angles the diagonal motif points in can aid in inspiring exciting new directions for elements.
