Venture
Illustration for Jordan Tucker’s second issue of his standout zine Venture. This piece, Ascending (2016) draws from the feeling of rising above one’s challenges, and as it was during our final years at UniSA, it seems related to our want for freedom, new opportunities and the common wish to be making it.
We prepared our Grand and Venture projects alongside one another during this time in preparation for another exciting ZQ Zine Swap. I am forever appreciative of Jordan, his design thinking and enthusiasm.

With this as a visual anchor/guide, the illustration takes up full vertical potential. Fine-lined at 0.4mm, the form is escaping what is reaching from below.
