A humble zine showcasing local and international artistic works. In a simple format of one colour of ink, cheap stock, hand folded and stapled with care.
In a time of extravagance, what remains grand? Can we redefine its meaning? Can we grow content with simpler materials as the vehicle for our expression?
Each issue follows a loose theme, as to not constrain the contributors, but is enough to have a foundation for interpretation. The themes are chosen with the aim to be introspective, challenging, even unspoken.
Issue one’s theme is ‘Interpret contrast. Light and dark’.
The format is a hand folded and stapled A4 zine, 56 pages in monochrome. Grand has appeared in a few types of stock, but is commonly seen in pastel blue and green office paper. The thinking behind this is to turn something drab and undesirable into something special, the meaning and value is put into the zine by the viewer.
